The Thing That Would Not Die

"May you live in interesting times" is a curse for a reason - and my times just keep getting more and more interesting.

I was standing by the list table chatting with the ladies inside when A Certain Person walked up to sign in. I said hi as politely as possible. He said hi back. No sign, no clue. I will never know if he got my letter.

He won this weekend's tournament. I was inches from tearing down and bolting from site. I stayed  because some very good friends were being recognized in court, so I stayed for that. I ate my dinner. I accepted a vile lemonjuice and vodka concoction (sorry, I hate vodka) from one of my friends, and hung out in camp. Mostly conversation with a sprinkling of music. Frederick was noodling on his harp and read a poem he was working on, I sang "Oy Comamos," which Leah definitely liked.   The WK Choir stopped by and I crashed the tenor section for Vittoria's "O Magnum Mysterium" and was pleased to find that I still can hit that low E flat in the jubilus. I played for the Sunday morning dancing on the field. I helped tear down camp and we had a nice dinner at a nearby diner before I drove home.

In other words, my world did not end.

He can have his opinion.

But he will also have to process past a devoted subject, on her knees in shin on the day of his Investiture. Who knows, he might like it - and learn something.
