Happy tummy

Just had an excellent dinner at Kamakura with [personal profile] karisu_sama  and [livejournal.com profile] didjiman , who met me out at Alameda Point to shoot pictures beforehand. We split an order of  "essence of lobster" soup which had big chunks of lobster carcass floating among the tofu, cabbage and ginger and was to die for. I ordered the sashimi moriawase appetizer, a generous assortment of sashimi, including the BEST tako (octopus) I have ever had in my entire life. I couldn't finish my roll (crab tempura, avocado and cucumber) so there are two pieces downstairs in the fridge to be enjoyed for lunch tomorrow. We also split a 350 ml bottle of Ohyama sake (dry, very nice with our meal). As happened the last time, when I ate here with mamapduck, we were served a plum wine aperitif on the house with our bill. Kamakura is not inexpensive, but so worth the splurge!

I just looked at Kamakura's menu--the lunch prices are pretty reasonable, dinner seems a little spendy, but all of the dishes sound very tasty indeed. Maybe next time I'm up your direction, we can go for lunch?
