Obon: It's not all takoyaki and taiko.

I will be attending Obon in San Jose tomorrow - having just unearthed a yukata and obi from the depths of an underbed box. If last year is anything to go by, it will be crowded. There will be street food. There will be taiko. There will be dancing in the evening. But will there be this?

I doubt it. Folks tend to object to "litter" going into the bay. Kind of a shame, really. It's a beautiful custom. Ah well, now maybe some of you know why I put lights in my "Zen koi pond" at Great Western War last year.
