Pennsic planning and packing stuff

Me thinking out loud, move along, nothing brilliant to see here.

I get 12 cubic feet on the kingdom truck. I just recalculated the cubic dimensions of bundled tent poles, cot inside plastic roly tub and cot OUTSIDE plastic roly tub and I have the room to ship the cot outside the tub, which is good because it had to go in there kitty corner and waste space. Substituting a cheap plastic dropcloth - that can be dumpsterized at the end of the war for a net loss of $4 takes up less space than a poly tarp.

I cannot figure out any way to fit the Japanese bug hat into either the bin or my luggage - at least not without it being smashed beyond all recognition, so it's not coming. I will just have to katsugu a kosode.  Illustration and/or documentation of this dorky but kinda cute period practice appears here.

Ditto my other straw hat. My felt one packs flat, so I can wear that or veils with my European stuff.

But where the freak are my waraji zori? And my glass headed veil pins.....

Amazing how things end up there, isn't it? I once found the better part of a $0.99 packet of french fries under my seat - not in the package, just loose, assorted (calcified) fries.

Yeah. French fries don't decompose - they petrify. If THAT doesn't put you off the things forever, I don't know what will.
