You see, there's this restaurant on the San Leandro Marina, called "Horatio's." Yes, that Horatio. Unfortunately I could not find any interior photos, but they have a lot of nautically themed art on the walls, including a print of a painting of an angelic little midshipman bidding farewell to his mother, requisite portraits of Lord Nelson and the like. There's even a gun port with an oversized cannon muzzle sticking out of it, and a raised "quarter deck" area in the dining room.

The fare is, not surprisingly, steaks and seafood. Pricy for dinner, manageable for business lunches. We tend to end up there for holiday luncheons with the boss sometimes.

They used to have a portrait of Lady Nelson up, too. It was defaced, though, so they took it down. :(

My grandparents lived near the marina. We went to Horatio's for nearly every special occasion. They make good food. Except for the season they tried out the Jamaican menu.
