Yecccchhhhh!
Nothing like having BOTH geta sucked off both feet and doing a face plant in front of a pavilionful of fighters in a downpour. I can't remember who all picked me and the items I was returning to their owners for my Princess when it happened.
I think what happened was that the wet made the knots holding the hanao (thongs) in place slid and repeated mud-sucking loosened everything so that when the first one failed and I tried to right myself, the second failed immediately after.
All of it, mud to the knees, including the long johns I had on under. My tabi look like they were found in an archaeology dig. It's all in the washer now.
I need to re-do this photo with the self timer. The light's not great, my collars are six ways from Sunday and what is with that right sleeve? Someone told me how I always look "so put together." Really? I'm not seeing it here. Still, I did get a lot of compliments on the mobakama before it turned into a filthy rag.
And I got a cute picture of Her Highness right before court. And tea into the hands of a very pleased Queen, who turns out to be a tea lover.
Filthy, nasty, unpleasant weather. Got offsite with layla_lillah about 4-ish, got a bite at the Black Bear and my muddy clothes are whirling in the washer right now.
EDIT. Oh. Peachy. Power is out to the front hallway and laundry closet - and it's not any of the circuit breakers in here....
