Mmmmmm!

Just remembered there was some Stilton lurking in a back drawer of the refrigerator where it had languished since [profile] gcmadtown81's visit.  It's almost - but not quite - "weapons' grade": crusty on the outside, still creamy inside with a hint of mellowness under a sharpness that can cut glass. I popped the cork on that Thomas Coyne Malbec I picked up a few weeks ago. Talk about a match made in Heaven! I only just managed to keep from devouring all of the cheese in one sitting.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, Stilton. Better yet, Stilton and a perfectly ripe pear. A little wine with it would be pretty damn OK as well.

I'm sure it was better than the remains of a bag of disgustingly bland shredded mozzarella that I had for "DIY dinner" tonight, along with some Santa Rosa plums off the neighbor's tree.... :/
