An FYI on the test shot batches

All photos uploaded to Flickr in test batches are completely unedited and unretouched. You're seeing what came out of the camera - which is the point of test batches anyway.

The only "editing" going on is deletion of clunkers while shooting, or weeding to make room in the internal memory or memory card.

Besides, I'm old school and my photo-manipulation skills are limited by choice to red-eye reduction, cropping and the occasional bright/dark/contrast adjustment.

That's exactly my definition of editing too: Delete the bad, crop when necessary, toss out the red eye. Done.

Old school

My old teacher -

4 rolls of color slide film a week.

Throw out the stuff that sucks.

Expensive, but it will teach you to be more careful about composing your shot before you snap. I wonder how the digital camera is going to affect the development of novice photographers.
