Dutch Baby Recipe from allison_is

Since she posted it today and since someone on my f-list had expressed curiosity when I mentioned it last week:

"1/4 cup butter
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup flour

Preheat oven to 425. Place butter in casserole dish (or cast iron skillet, whatever) and melt in the oven while you're beating the eggs and milk, and gradually adding the flour. Take the pan out (before the butter burns, that's pretty crucial) and pour the batter in the pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes.Serve immediately with powdered sugar, sour cream, jam, whatever. My favorites are sour cream and apple butter. For those on Weight Watchers, 1/4 of this recipe is 7 points, because I use 1% milk."

Man--this sounds so good. Of course, I'd end up eating the whole darned thing.

As I recall, this filled a rectangular casserole and worked out to about 8 servings.

I didn't say that it would be rational to eat the whole thing, just likely.

What I meant to say was that recipe was 4 eggs, 1 cup milk and flour, and maybe 1/3 cup of butter. but this one could be stretched to make 8 servings, the slices just wouldn't be as big

I read this recipe over quite a few times. I don't see a Dutch Baby in the ingredients.

Maybe this is how the Dutch make babies?

Perhaps the secret ingredient is the Dutch Baby?

So confused.

"Are your Girl Scout Cookies made with real Girl Scouts?"

Ours is not to reason why, ours is to stuff our faces with butter drippin' goodness.
