Countdown time.

Got through a day at work, made a bank run, made a grocery store run - and of course it didn't start raining until I came downstairs with things to load into the truck. I am mostly loaded though, except for the cooler and my backpack with overnight-in-Motel-6 things in it.
Those go in when I leave for work tomorrow.

Estrella shopping list includes portable holes which I need to pick up from Johann. And shoes. The turnshoes from Historic Enterprises were ok, but walking in them was like being barefoot without the traction. The friction coefficient of the grass at the GWW site in Taft and that of the groundcloth in my tent were downright perilous in those babies. They're also several years old and starting to go holey in inconvenient places. I don't think they're worth fixing as they've also stretched out a bit over the years.

Looking forward to seeing folks there.

EDIT: Hmmmm - and not in a good way. Someone just posted to SCA-Waste that there may be snow through the damn Grapevine tomorrow.

How long a drive is it for you?

Not quite 14 hours, traffic and weather conditions being auspicious. If I leave work at 4 I can usually make it into Palm Springs before midnight and get a decent break before doing the rest of it the following AM.

Yikes. Snow. Hopefully there won't be snow. Or fires to melt the snow. Or whatever weird thing that counts for weather in SoCal. Safe & traffic free driving thoughts to you!
