I live one block from a Marine Corps /Naval Reserve station here on Alameda. They are very good neighbors.

Do they have Nuclear Wessels?

Not these days. The Naval Air Station at the north end of town was de-commissioned in the '90s. They do have the USS Hornet museum. Some of the land is being developed for housing, some of the old NAS buildings are being used as commercial and warehouse space, and, of course, the Mythbusters like to come out and blow stuff up on the old airstrip, which is used one Sunday a month for a huge antiques market.

The link you provided does some strange things, including something that looks like it is drilling into my livejournal account.

Hm, that's odd - I'm getting to it just fine. If you really want to read it, you could go to www.contracostatimes.com and search "berserk in berkeley".

If a group whose political or religious ideals differed from those of the City Council, behaved in the manner attributed to Code Pink (to name the most extreme/repugnant example, say Westboro Baptist Church), the City Council would be begging the Marines to break it up 8P
