Your type of hair is apparently not the target demographic for that brand. All the commercials are rubbish. Find one that works for you and stick with it.
Shampoo and conditioner are one of the few things that I'm willing to spend real money on, because the professional products really do make a difference. It sounds to me lke you have fairly fine hair, in which case the stuff I use would be like axle grease in your hair. Find a stylist you respect, who understands long hair, and get a recommendation. I know that $15 and up for a bottle is insane, but given the amount used and the real difference in results, I think it's worth it.
