Survey says!
Feb. 4th, 2007 07:15 pmLady Fionnghuala na Lamh-Bann of the East Kingdom has conducted a survey on the most overplayed/oversung songs that turn up in SCA bardics. Out of the top five (which includes several ties bringing the top five total up to ten), only two are actually period pieces.

I am strangely comforted by this. People hate the "Moose Song" and "The Scotsman" as much as I do!
After a long, lousy year in which I have not felt the merest desire to lift my voice in song inside the SCA or out of it, I might just have to dig out that draft transliteration of "Oy Comamos y Bebamos" and see if I can have it in perfomable shape by Estrella War. Clearly the SCA needs to learn some new old songs.
