1. What/when was your first event?
100 Minutes War, Rusted Woodlands, East Kingdom, November of 1995, pelting Nor'easter.
2. What was your first war?
Pennsic XXV.
3. What is your favorite part of an event/war?
Events: Swanning around in my posh frock. No, wait, that was someone else.
Answering the age old question "My God, what is that NOISE?" (What can I say, the hurdy gurdy is a terrific icebreaker. So is George.)
Wars: Getting out of kingdom so I can meet up with friends I don't get to see all that often or meet the ones I've only ever corresponded with in person.
Oh, and answering the age old question "My God, what is that NOISE?"
4. What A&S skill/talent do you have or wish you had?
Being able to manipulate the space-time continuum so I had enough time to practice the skills I have,
especially since people think I'm a musical instrument adoption agency.
Or attracting a man who will worship me as I so rightfully deserve. ;->
5. Why did you choose the elements of your Coat of Arms/device?

Red and black were my stable colors for years before I got into the SCA. I have actually been to one of the villages called Woodford in the UK. This one is in Wiltshire, near Salisbury, on the Avon river, just a wide spot in the road with an excellent pub and a swan infestation. The fleurs de lis in chief were tossed into the mix to solve a conflict with someone else's arms.
6. Favorite SCA song?
What, you mean, plodding musical composition, mawkish sentiment, and no sense of period style? No thank you. So much of it is pretty dreadful.
Favorite SCA song: Frederick of Holland's "Veni Vidi Bibi, " a contrefait of the tune "Riu riu chiu " inspired by Goliardic lyrics in the style of the "Carmina Burana."
Favorite period song - "The Agincourt Carol."
(Hey, this is me you're asking.)
7. Favorite garb?
Why yes. If I wear it it's a favorite. (See icon above. Hobbit nailed the color of that cotehardie.)
You'd do better to ask which is my least favorite - the houppelande which had to be made in the bride's signature colors of "blush" and "crimson," which were more like peach and burgundy if you ask me. A more 80's-hotel-room houppelande you have never seen.
8. Best advice received/given?
"Sin boldly." (You can't learn from a mistake if you don't make it in the first place.) - Isabeau d'Orleans quoting Martin Luther while directing the Tropes.
You can face pretty much anything once you've washed your face and brushed your teeth. - Duchess Emma Fitzwilliam
Do it because you love it.
9. What is one thing you would like to change about the SCA?
I can only have one?
The rampancy of Us vs. Themism, usually manifested by perjorative name calling, pre-emptive cornflake peeing and the inability to have the last word long after one has already expressed one's opinion.
10. Why do you do this hobby?
(Oh good, you remembered it's a HOBBY! So many people don't.) I get to learn new stuff all the time.
