Mini-projecty goodness
Apr. 24th, 2007 07:22 pm1. My 17th century wool petticoat has been taken in so that the waistband will actually fit me now. No point in clotheslining myself during the grand march at the Woodland Highland Games! (Weather report for Saturday says 92, so I'm taking my crewel square to wear as a shawl if I can't bear the wool jacket.)
2. I whipped up an apron out of remnants leftover from the stripped kosode. There's still enough fabric left I may get a sun dress or something out of it.
3 . I removed the old plastic rosettes and glued in prettier wooden ones on the hurdy gurdy. I'd been meaning to do this for awhile and when one of the old rosettes fell out and got lost on one of my Ferry Building excursions, I ordered new ones from Music Makers. I rather like the unstained rosette against the golden color of the cherry - almost looks like an aged ivory inlay that way.

To dos:
Put the collar on the stripped kosode. I want that done by Beltane.
Close up the front of the rust cotehardie and hem. Ditto Beltane.
Make an apple and pear tart for the Highland Games as my contribution to the meal plan - I'll do that Thursday evening.
Friday night, hit Ichiban Kan in El Cerrito and see if they have plastic sake cups. I've got about half a dozen, but I wouldn't mind more.
