Wednesday Scott and I hung out while Jean was at work. We had a chilly tour of the property - snow is visible on the top of a nearby ridge and I am NOT acclimated after shirt sleeve temps in Alameda. It's green and lovely and quiet. Then he took me over to the Pendleton mill. None of the clothing screamed that it must be taken home, but I picked up three 2 yard pieces of off-white wool (I can always dye it) at $1.99/yard and some gorgeous royal blue summer weight wool for $3.99/yard. Lack of luggage space and budget kept me out of further trouble.
The three of us had dinner at a little place called Los Dos Compadres which was terrific. Best sangria I have ever had, period.
Thanksgiving comprised a great deal of being parked in a buttsucker of an armchair watching the parade or the Philadelphia dog show, working on seams on the brown tunic and pettting various of the cats. Nandi, one of the older females, was glued to me for much of the day, though I did play with Tobi and Khyber a bit as well.
Jean's turkey was marvelously moist and the gravy, flavored with sherry and Kahlua, was rich, nutty and slightly sweet. I hit satiety pretty quickly. Somehow I never got around to the mince pie....
All in all, a lovely, relaxing Thanksgiving day.
