Neither a borrower nor a lender be.
Jan. 20th, 2008 02:35 pmIs it pathological for me to hate owing anyone money? Because I do. I pay my bills promptly. If someone pays for something on my behalf, I pay them back right away so I don't forget to do it. I also try to return things I've borrowed from people as soon as I reasonably can.
And yet there are people who owe me money for things I've bought on their behalf. I know they have it. I know they have checkbooks. I know they can afford stamps. I know they know they still owe me. And it's not like I don't need it back either.
Which is why I had to put my dainty little foot down over on the Tousando last night. If you read yesterday's post, it was about shopping mostly for things to make other people happy (gifts, party supplies, etc.). I don't mind doing favors for people, I really don't. I am lucky enough to have access to Japanese goodies that they can't readily get - but I had to set limits. Estrella War is less than a month away, I am only making one more trip into the city, I have only so much space in my truck and I cannot afford to not be paid back right now.
