There was an agenda?
Mar. 14th, 2008 06:05 pmWho knew? Evidently State Representative Sally Kern of Oklahoma does. She got outed on Youtube.
Now we know her agenda: using her status as a public official to spread hate. If it bothers you, as it does me, tell her so.

On second thought, use a stamp and do it the old fashioned way. That way she can't blame the e-mail server crash at the State House on The Gay Agenda's Hacker Ninja Squad Of Doom. Put this sucker on paper. I will if you will. I can hear the crash of those heavy mailbags, can't you?
Dear Ms. Kern:
When I was a girl, there was this song we used to sing in church. I can't say I cared much for the minor-key melody, but the refrain was as inescapable as the values my parents raise me with: "They will know we are Christians by our love."
Labels make it easy to turn someone you don't know into Them. Once someone becomes One Of Them, it's easy to chuck love out the nearest window. It starts with "They are Different." From there, it's oh so easy to make the step to "They are The Enemy," whoever They are, for whatever reason, whether you've bothered to get to know Them or not.
This is normal, this is all too human. That does not make it right. When you build that fence, you lose the chance to know the person you've slapped that label onto simply for being different.
Everyone has an agenda. If there is an [insert label for Them here] agenda, I'm pretty certain it involves getting up in the morning, going to work, sighing as one's hard earned money dribbles into one's gas tank, paying taxes, stimulating the economy by being a consumer of goods and services, trying to have a nice weekend and enjoying the rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. I don't know about you, but after a week like that, who has time to plot the downfall of civilization and get the laundry done?
A very wise man once said: "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."
Please think about it. Please think about what you have said and done and whether you will be known by your love.
