gurdymonkey: (Talk To The Fan)
As of this moment, a certain Yahoo Group lists 65 new links. The reason it lists 65 new links is that the only way to combat ignorance and ignoramuses is to make information available and convenient and put it where even a newbie who doesn't read Japanese can find it.

I started by organizing the group's Links section into orderly folders by subject. I moved a bunch of stuff around last night. Unfortunately, for some reason, the blasted group set-up would not let me simply cut and paste existing links into new folders, so I had to re-enter in the folders. The most negative side-effect of this is that there is no way for the moved links to be identified with the people who originally put them in there, which makes it look like I'm the only person who added links. (I sent a message to the group which I hope explains what happens and I hope no feathers are ruffled. I don't WANT to take credit for something someone else found and put in there.) That said, if I had to estimate, out of that 65, maybe a dozen or so were links moved into folders, the rest were taken from personal bookmarks on my computer.

I'm not even close to done. I haven't even gotten into bookmarks on fans, kites, games or food.

You can bet your best obi there's a folder on tea ceremony. And a link to Google Translate.
