Taiko, How I've Missed You!
Sep. 16th, 2008 08:00 pmThere's something so therapeutic about pounding away on
I started my first class of the fall session with the intermediate/advanced group. Shannon-sensei said, "Right, let's start with "Hiriyu." I had to remind him I don't know it. First half of the class was spent madly dog paddling through a piece I've seen performed once (at the recital).

Second half of the class, Sean-sensei began teaching us all a new piece (as yet unnamed, evidently). With the playing field now much more level, I felt significantly less like a spaz - except for the fact that my left hand is showing some muscle-memory deterioration thanks to a three week break. (Note to self, must acquire some cushion foam (or better yet, egg-crate). A square big enough to park my practice drum on wouldn't suck.)
