My Sunday morning, so far
Nov. 2nd, 2008 10:05 amWoke up with a shitty headache. Still waiting for the Advil to kick in.
Discovered that the first two commenters on my cross-post of the Tanka Challenge to the Tousando are the two most annoying people on that forum. It's not NaNoWriMo, it's not supporting NaNoWriMo, it's the ANTI-NaNoWrimo. Now shut up, take the challenge, or get back to writing the Un-Great American Novel, OK?
Did manage to get today's entry written after having a look out the bedroom window across the channel.
Also discovered, thanks to Barbie Kumihimo Lady that my website had gone away. Because, of course, as of midnight, October 31, Hong Kong time, I hadn't paid for my renewal. Because I hadn't gotten the annual reminder I was UP for renewal. One Paypal transaction and a polite-nasty-e-mail to ICDSoft later and my website is restored.
The apartment is a mess. I cannot seem to get motivated to do anything about it right now.
Breakfast might help.....
EDIT: My fiendish plan is working! Flushed The Bushi From Mutsu out of deep cover and a new face popped on to post a tanka. Mwahahahah......
EDIT The Second:
danabren just wrote The Best Tanka Evar - and f-locked the entry! I double dog dare you to post that to the Tousando....
Living room is looking significantly less worse for wear than it did an hour ago. Stack of stuff to go into attic for the winter has been slogged upstairs, I just need to dynamite a path through the back of the closet....
EDIT The Third: People are writing tanka! I WIN!

Taiko fans: Kodo 2009 tour
Nov. 2nd, 2008 02:01 pmAnybody remember Some Guy? Well, he recently sent me the link to Kodo's 2009 tour info. While it didn't have any details other than locations, a little Google-jutsu detective work turned up the following Bay Area performances:
Wednesday February 4, 2009, 8 pm
Mondavi Center at UC Davis, Davis (tickets range from $25 to $45).
http://www.mondaviarts.org/events/event.cfm?event_id=622&season=2008
Friday, February 6, 2009, 8 pm
Marin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium, San Rafael (tickets range from $25 to $65).
http://www.co.marin.ca.us/depts/CU/main/MC/mc_calendar_event.cfm?MocKey=287
The KODO site lists dates through March 2009 - depending on what part of the country you're in, you may want to try searching your local venues to see if you can turn up ticket info for them as well.
