Random thoughts on website reworking.
Apr. 15th, 2009 03:41 pmBefore things got stupid last week, I had asked on the JML whether people might be interested in my adding a section on getting dressed, aimed at the basics: things like, "Put your tabi on FIRST" and "Always wrap left over right," how to use a false collar, how himo (random strips of fabric) hold inner layers in place, sleeve fluffing and such. There was definite interest, though they may regret it once they see that Point A involves a Fat Old White Lady in shorts and a tank top.
The new camera has a video feature. When I used the high quality version to film taiko class last week, my aging computer couldn't make the pictures keep up with the sound. I think I need to do a test shoot after work at the lower quality, load it and see how that works. If it works at all. (If it does, I figure I'll use a full length mirror next to the tripod so I have an idea what things look like as I'm going through the process.) Trying to dress and run back and forth using a self timer would be cumbersome, but still photos may inevitably be necessary.
EDIT: It's time to append a polite note to the 404 error. (I credit Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" Tokyo episode for giving me the idea.)
EDIT The Second: ....and post a formal announcement to the board that the site is down. For the users who actually bother to read my site, I owe them that courtesy.
