The word "waffle" has been bandied before me in three separate LJ entries today by three different people: Exhibit A. Exhibit B. Exhibit C. So I bought a box of toaster waffles (not owning a waffle iron) and a bottle of real maple syrup and had that for dinner.
While running weekly reports at work, I noticed that the number of jobs on it was up. It's a trickle compared to the boom year we had for much of 2008 before the bottom fell out, but I'm taking it as a hopeful sign that our company has picked up some contracts.
learnteach for the win, having articulated why the Letter V thing was making my brain itch. Can we save the word "valor" for people who risk their lives to do the right thing? "Responsibility" is a perfectly good word.
Cautiously good news from
la_peregrina . Hope it continues. Hope is a good word. I like that one a lot.
Obviously I am not at Coronet. Camping, particularly at a site where you have to trundle your belongings from parking area to campsite via wagon, particularly after this week's heavy rains, smacked of too much effort. I will day trip. I will visit my friends, watch some fighting, perhaps pull a taiko out of the back of the truck and practice a little at a safe distance and studiously ignore Rumor, Gossip and Politics. Then I shall kidnap
mamapduck and make her pay for her part in the LJ Waffle Conspiracy.
I do believe I need to go downstairs and put on "The Hidden Fortress". Mifune-san calls to me and there is a princess to save. Just as soon as I upload.......
