...cause my body told me to be.

Flight Friday night was about an hour late due to mechanical issues. Oakland to Burbank leg was jammed, Burbank to Phoenix there were only sixteen people on the plane. I had a row to myself. There was a father with a little girl about four across the row. She squealed with excitement several times, particularly during landing. I don't think I was a squealer, but I always loved flying as a kid because we didn't do it very often. I still put down my book and look out the window during take-off and landings though.

Andy was off doing best man things, so I got a lot of Kelly and Baby time. Kitty's still pretty small for her age, but she runs now and is into everything.

The wedding was interesting. The groom and groomsmen were all dressed like vaqueros (complete with guns - welcome to the West), a look which definitely suited Dustin (and his brother).  Marina was gorgeous in white satin and a veil that went on for miles and her bridesmaids were in black cocktail dresses. They exchanged vows at sunset, so Buddha knows whether my photos are going to be anything worth saving. Several people wore skeleton face paint and Mexican costume.

The reception was lovely - good buffet food with a southwestern take, open bar of beer, wine and soft drink. Music was recorded and mostly rockabilly once the party got started. The minister performed magic, and several of Ri's friends did old-timey burlesque. Really happy for both the Great Hero of China and his lady, and deeply touched that they wanted me here,  but I have to tell you that going to a wedding where you only know four people is kind of socially awkward.

Kelly and I came home with the baby before things had wound all the way down. The groom woke me up coming back to the house to pick up the clothes he'd changed out of, apologized for doing so and said, "You're coming to brunch with us tomorrow, right?"

Right. As soon as the rest of the world wakes up. ;-D
