I have exchanged FB "friend" info with yet another Sweet Young Thing from the Tousando. This young whipper snapper has (a) been in the SCA less than a year, (b) has an excellent grasp of period style, and (c) can he sew!

Why yes, I suppose my blood pressure IS elevated: thanks to the fact that I had to take half hour lunches all week to make up the time to attend the appointment, hit California-Rainy-Day-Driver traffic on 880, couldn't find a parking spot in your completely inadequate lot, had to park up on Park Street with only enough change for 20 minutes on the meter and had used twelve of those minutes by the time you called me back to the exam room. Did I mention I hate pelvic exams worse than dental work?

Silk Road in Oakland had 20% off their $16.95/yard dupioni. The white, machine-woven stuff was relatively slub free and some lady ahead of me was looking at the gold they had for drapes (which was much slubbier). Three yards of white at 52" wide should be ample for my nefarious purposes (which do not involve anachronistic, machine-embroidered anything) and I'll simply dye half of it gold.  The inventory of silk is not what it's been in the past, but that could be a reflection of the economy or when the next shipment from China turns up, but I like to pop into Silk Road and see what they have before trekking up to Berkeley or someplace else.  The couple that runs it are very nice, don't hover while you're browsing, but are johnny on the spot when you're ready to have them cut something off a bolt for you.

Washing machine has been pulled out from its usual wall in an ominous fashion that makes me suspect I should not put quarters or clothing in it until Glenn does whatever needs doing to it. After reading Yelp reviews about people stealing clothing out of machines at one local coin-op, I did a bunch of stuff in the kitchen sink, wrung it out and ferried it down to the dryer in a bucket. In the rain. Five miles uphill each way. Well, in the rain. It's supposed to rain for the next several days.
