Time for an adventure?
Apr. 15th, 2011 08:52 pmSo yeah, this woman at work thinks I'm "brave" and "adventurous" when all I really am is single and lonely and if I didn't do things on my own I'd never do anything.
Anyway, this is one of my free weekends before the back-to-back events of May (I haven't made a reservation for feast at La Prova Dura and honestly haven't decided one way or another whether to go). Yeah, it's all pagentry and medieval authenticity (while the bikers blaze by on the road to Pinnacles), but I got press ganged into field heralding a round the last one I went to and for the record I (a) hate being volunteered to do something by pushy so-and-sos For The Good Of The Kingdom and (b) LOATHED heralding.
I saw this today: http://www.yosemitepark.com/activities_events_earthday.aspx That's right. Admission to national parks is free this weekend and next weekend. Yosemite's about 3 1/2 hours away. I've never been there in the spring, with the waterfalls being all waterfally. And it's Yosemite.
If I got up at my New Usual Time of 5:30 AM (which I sorta need to get used to anyway), I'd arrive with most of the day ahead of me, even with a breakfast stop along the way.....
After all, I have hype to live up to.
