Semi productive day
Jan. 15th, 2012 07:53 pmSugoroku box is emptied, reglued and clamped. The contents have been emptied, washed and/or thrown away, prior to being put back in once I'm sure the mend is solid.
While bagging up fabric to be put away, I found the roll of silk that Ii-dono and Abe-hime gave me when I was in Annapolis. Time to make it into something, most likely an inner-layer kosode as it's white with a pale green cloud pattern dyed into it. Might add some touches in gold, but of what?
One of the side effects of (a) my collecting cool pottery and (b) being given MOAR COOL POTTERY is running out of places to keep it. There is a narrow strip of wall (13" wide) in the living room, between one window and the wall heater. I managed to find some particleboard shelving 12.13" wide at Target that more or less matches the iKea shelves, so now I have a place where I can actually display some of my pretties. I also found a cool, retro looking wall clock for the kitchen for $7.99.
