How did I end up owing money on my tax returns? Because they have me down as a "head of household" instead of single. My deductions have been wrong ever since they hired me here. ARGH.

I say again, ARGH.

OUCH!! That really sucks - and is one reason we have them take out more than they should, just to avoid such disasters. I think Red and I both claim single, no deductions, so they take out the max amount. Then, since we're married with the kids, we can usually expect a hefty chunk back. It IS giving Uncle Sam an interest free loan for the year - but it's a small price, since if we had it, we'd spend it.

Hopefully you got it fixed for 2007, so at least next April won't be so hard.
