As best she can, she huddles
Against the old house,
Despite the wind's advances
The maple keeps some last leaves.
(It's been an odd, mild autumn. Here it is November 21 and the big maple beside the house still has about 2/3 of its leaves and 2/3 of that hasn't turned color yet.)
