Especially as nobody was dissing peers. I think - that is, I HOPE - she misunderstood. It is possible to learn from people who are not peers. It is possible to participate in the SCA without duct-taping onself to a mentor. And it is possible for these things to happen without disrespect to peers or the peerages.
