Yep. What gurdymonkey said. On some subjects, I'm going to ask a peer to help me evaluate sources, improve my skills, learn more about X. I'm not doing it because they have a medallion, I'm doing it because they're the most knowledgeable person I know on that subject. On other subjects, my go-to person won't be a peer, but they'll still be the most knowledgeable person I know. Either way is good.
