Shopping karma.
Dec. 5th, 2010 07:57 pmOK, so I posted it in all the places I thought people might be interested and hardly anyone seemed to be bidding on the fans kyoto.antiques had up on eBay this afternoon. So I bid on four of them.
I won the Japanese American Centennial fan. Not period-appropriate, but cool in its own right.
I won the one with the subtle gold cloud pattern. I really, REALLY like this one. Very period and elegant.
I won the one with Daruma. Because who doesn't love Daruma. (OK, the squeesha wannabes, maybe.)
I won the bell flower kawahori. Another period-appropriate style.
I made out like a bandit, probably because I passed on the ones most likely to appeal to buyers who want fancier dance fans. I will have made out like even more of a bandit if the seller will combine shipping.
Kinda makes up for sinus headaches and having gotten part way through attaching a collar on one of the commission kosode before I noticed it was wrong side out.
