My birthday falls right in the middle of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo (the oldest one in the US). We moved to Hurst (a suburb right outside Ft. Worth) when I was seven, and every year, without fail, I was dragged out there as a "birthday treat".
My parents loved rodeos. Most of the time--at least in the 70s--kids got in free. And wow, the Dallas/Ft. Worth area has a lot of them!
Le sigh. If I ever go to another rodeo, it will be too soon.
