Vivat! for the Baronial decision. Booh! that the Kingdom decision has been delayed. Why is the issue of Gay marriage even an issue? I fight mostly for someone who is gay and is not my partner simply because I find that person inspirational (and my wife has no interest in watching me fight - as she says "I can watch you lying flat on your back at home") Same sex or different; its the inspiration and not a mundane relationship that we fight for. I was also horrified by the Gallup statistics on approval for gay marriage: not the figures; the fact that there are enough people who claim not to know anyone who is gay to be statistically significant - evidently America is even more different than I thought. We had a discussion (just around the banner making workshop - not formal) in our Shire and couldn't come up with any valid reason to continue the ban and ended with a "what if" of who we could fight for if allowed to choose from both genders. Some interesting names from among the "Never going to be Royal" came up. Of course the whole thing may be moot if it ever comes to Law. Informal legal opinion is that the Various legal systems of Drachenwald would be all over this like a rash if Formal legal approaches were made, and it only takes one person to get so disgruntled about the whole thing that they give up waiting for the BOD to do the decent thing.
