If you are working from home, it should not count against your sick time. So yes, count it as time worked. And I've worked HR. Unless they are totally strange, people taking part of a day off as Sick Time is not unheard of. And remember, your boss is signing off on it, so he approves. Go and get better. Tea sounds good.
