Sunday I got together with Urtatim, who I hadn't seen in months, to go see Persepolis. Seek this remarkable little gem out before it leaves the art houses! (Though I expect it will end up on DVD, given the string of awards it's won or been nominated for).

[You. Over there on the right side of my screen. Stop flashing ads at me. I don't believe someone has a crush on me just on your say so, so shut up.]

We had a late lunch at La Mediterranee on College Avenue. The Levantine meat and phyllo roll things I ordered were good and the hummus was terrific. Then we decided to see what the long line was about a few doors down and checked out Ici. OK, the butterscotch ice cream I got was good, and the taste of Urtatim's spumoni would actually make me re-think spumoni, but please. Can the pretension and come up with a better way to serve your patrons. Frankly, I'd be just as happy with a gelato at Figaro in the food court over in Emeryville.

Came home just in time to catch the new HBO miniseries "John Adams." Pretty decent. I LIKE the fact that we're hearing accents from various parts of England, Ireland and Scotland coming out of the mouths of the cast. It reminds us that these colonists regarded themselves as English - and why the fight for independence was such a huge step. I'll definitely look for the next installments based on what I've seen so far.

Tickets have been acquired for the kimono fashion show at the Asian Art Museum. It's the same weekend as Mists Coronet, unfortunately, but I got to see some of Tomita-san's work for film and television when he did a show here last spring and he does some gorgeous pieces. Besides, the lovely and talented [profile] takadai_no_tora is coming up to see it -and me - and mayhem will undoubtedly ensue. Or at the very least, tourism and shopping....

Crown is this weekend. Japanese or English? Japanese or English? Sigh. What's a multiple persona disordered gal to do?

What's warmer? And easier to keep dry and out of the mud? Those are my primary criteria for March Crown outfitting.

regarding the flashy-thingy on the right...

<geek>
If your web browser *isn't* Firefox, please consider switching to it. (and then adding the "adblock", "adblock filterset G", and "flashblock" plugins for it)... Assuming, of course that you haven't done so already ;^)

(Darn. I was hoping someone had a crush on me.)

I have Firefox, thanks for the tip.

(Sorry... there I go popping bubbles, shattering illusions, and making kids eat spinach again. I'm dreadful that way.)

Thanks for the tip. I use Firefox intermittently, but didn't know about that. Now if only I could get it to actually save user id's and passwords consistently. :-/

Ah... being there, doing that, too. Some sites work hard to defeat your ability to do that. (MSN, Yahoo, most banking sites). There are plugins for that, too... but I'm not overly enamored of them.

I get the same ad! But apparently only one of my friends likes me. I guess the rest of my friends are either totally infuatuated with me, or can't stand me, but don't have anyone else to hang out with.
