"Hey, hey, hey. Don't be mean. We don't have to be mean because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are." - Buckaroo Banzai
You know, the LJ community dedicated to trashing people's makeup? The ones who got sloppy and left electronic footprints by hotlinking to my website? This is why I didn't just laugh it off. THIS is why I protested their bullshit idea of having fun at other people's expense. http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/05/15/internet.suicide/index.html
This is about being deliberately cruel with impunity - it's the Internet, nobody can catch me, therefore I can get away with it. We've gotten jaded by daily deluges of spam and phishing emails. McAfee no longer bothers to send me alerts about every new virus - it's just assumed that they happen and that McAfee will try to defend me from them as long as I buy their services.
I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself. Not everyone can.
Megan couldn't.
