....hires an un-airconditioned hall for an event in May? I ask you. We've known for about a day that there's a street festival going on in the neighborhood near the investiture site so that parking is going to be a major problem. The event autocrat announces tonight that the hall is not air conditioned. Forecast tomorrow is for high in the mid 80s.

If I hadn't committed to giving a friend whose car is totalled a ride to the site and to hosting a newcomer, I'd blow this off for a nice, air conditioned movie.

Well, it's not normally this hot in May. But I do agree with you, a masonic hall ('cause they _never_ have windows) was a dubious decision. But it's like one block from the MtV library, which is quite nice.

Wasn't it had very cheap because Leon is a Mason? That's what I have been assuming. Not going to be there myself - probably will be in that air-conditioned movie. :-)

Leon is a Mason IRL, as far as I know. Whether or not he's cheap, I do not know. But he's an old Westermarker, so most likely yes. :)
We'll miss you. See you at June Crown?

We have Karate at 10 am and a house viewing at 4 pm. Both sounded more fun than downtown Mountain View during a festival.

I used to live directly across the street from the hall. It has windows, but no ac. However, it's not usually this hot this time of year - 4 days ago it was a cool 68 degrees for the high down here. I'd recommend parking on the other side of Shoreline Blvd. The a la Carte thing never used to be well attended when I lived there, but who knows what it's like now. At least it's not the Art & Wine fest - now that was a nightmare.
I'll be cooking (literally) in an un-airconditioned house in Concord tomorrow. But I'll be wearing shorts and a t-shirt, not 5 layers of kimono (or whatever)

Weather dot com says 86 today for Mountain View, but some breeze, so maybe if there's a window or two. It's going to be around 100 down here and even if it is a dry heat, that's still pretty damn hot for May.
