Last night the phone rang. Caller ID showed a Virginia area code. As I have relatives in that part of the world, I picked up. I heard a male voice say "Is this Makiwara?"

Knocking over with a feather time: it was Ii Saburou Katsumori of the Best Cheshire Cat Grin Ever. . Calling from (drumroll) Bangkok. As in Thailand. (On his cell phone, hence the US area code.) He'd just responded to something I wrote over on the Tousando board and felt like calling. Just 'cause.

Josh and Ellen went to Thailand in January for work. They love it. We nattered on about all sorts of things for awhile and I turned in for the night with a happy little glow.

Now that's cool. I was wondering how they were doing. Next time you talk to him tell him that Rowan says HI!! and that we miss him in Stierbach. A lot.

Oh, my goodness has he changes since he left Winters Gate all those years ago! Please pass on greetings from me, and let him know that if they fancy a visit to Tasmania sometime this year I've got crash space (but may not be here next year, assuming all goes well and I finish up the project).
