Hump day thoughts and a second test batch
Mar. 25th, 2009 07:05 pmRuss' memorial service info was finally sent out this morning. Saturday, 1 PM, San Mateo. I'll go, but I'm not going to stick around for the reception. I just worked with the man, I don't know his family and they've been dealing with enough for the past month and a half without being besieged by strangers.
Spent two hours in a meeting today being introduced to our company's new Employee Stock Ownership Program. We get shares, their value goes towards an installment cash payout at retirement, yadayada. It's cool, only the guy from the financial services company seriously needs to be weaned off the Starbucks and have the slideshow remote surgically excised from his hand. I do hope he picked up all the damn Monopoly money he insisted on throwing around the training center, 'cause I do not want to go up there tomorrow morning and have to do it.
Decided on a whim to take the new camera across the channel and shot some pictures over around Jack London Square. http://www.flickr.com/photos/70104978@N00/sets/72157615910648234/

This shot was complete dumb luck. I could not see a thing on the LED. When I was aboard the Lady Washington, a fellow passenger had this neat little accordion hood that attached to the back of his camera with velcro. I definitely need to find something like that. Edit: FOUND!

And bigger memory cards. And a spare battery. Unless I'm in for a rude surprise tomorrow evening when I try some museum shooting, I don't think it's getting sent back for a refund.
