It doesn't happen when I go anywhere else on the internet.
Update: it also does it when I open my own journal.
Next step has been to notify LJ Support. So if I'm not my usual commenty, puttin-my-two-sen-in self, it's 'cause I can't read your blogging gold, 'kay? Honest, it's nothing personal.

Received an email from Mom assuring me that my family has not had any problems with Hurricane Earl weather where they are.

Bike has been measured and fabric has been cut for pannier bags. I have enough to double it up so the inside is lined with the same thing. Using the white vinyl remnant for the sides. My sewing machine should be able to handle it as long as I go slowly.

Caught a decent little follow-the-money crime drama on cable last night called "White Sands," with Willem Dafoe, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Mickey Rourke and Samuel L. Jackson.

EDIT: Thanks to ladycelia for a nudge with the clue bat. (Google the damn glitch and get instructions on how to make it go away. Why didn't I think of that?) The offending POS program has been uninstalled and I think I'm good to go.
Realized while making my morning tea that I don't have any Velcro. Went over to the giant CVS of Doom that used to be the giant Longs of Doom over on Pleasant Valley Road in my old neighborhood in Oakland. It's huge. It has a garden department that can rival any OSH, Target or Hellmart - in fact, that's where I go when I need bamboo poles cheap. The hardware department is equally respectable in terms of size and product availability. And when was the last time you bought fabric at the drugstore? You can here. All of which is why I figured I'd tool over and get various things all in one place: Velcro. An extra pair of pliers and screwdrivers for the tool kit I'm assembling for the bike - but no tire gauges, for some reason. (Picked up a little digital key-chain one at Kragen's on the way home instead.) A white sun hat that will look decent with my Peterman starlet dress for Monday's tea party. Q-tips. A bag of Raisinets. (Just 'cause.) Had I wished, I also could have bought craft supplies of various sorts, a fishing pole, a telescope or a pair of foo dogs for the front stoop.
Detoured back down Piedmont Avenue because I'd heard there was a cool vintage shop there. It exists. the proprietors were very pleasant and friendly - and I found a 60's polyester mini-dress that looked like it might fit me but didn't, so that bullet has been dodged. They had several dresses of that vintage, including a black cocktail dress with a plunging back and the most beautiful seam details across the bust, all, of course, too small. Still, worth knowing about and I did have fun browsing.
