Remember I said the Diablo Ladies drill team asked for permission to use my pictures? They're up.

My B&W cafe photo remains in second place behind a pair of butterflies chatting over pollen, with a macro shot of a snail or nautilus fossil hot on my heels. It's gotten comments, and folks seem to like it.

Eye exam went ok. (I biked over and back - it's an easy ride of maybe 2 miles, if that.) Ended up with Dr. W instead of Dr. T this time, nice, older Chinese-American lady. We discussed my overall health, whether I'd noticed any changes since the last exam. The exam indicated some minor changes consistent with aging, but not enough to bother changing my prescription this time around. (It's not the doctors at this practice I have a problem with, it's the office staff that needs to get its act together.)

Got some more hand sewing done on the plaid kosode last night. May do a bit this evening as well, if I feel like it.

Been mostly slacking today. A bit headachy, so napped a bit. I did run out to the art store in Berkeley to pick up some dye for that candy pink linen I bought. If I overdye the crap out of it with a blue, it should, at worst, go purple. Didn't find anything in the sale bins upstairs at Stone Mountain, which is just as well. I really don't need to buy fabric at the moment.  I also picked up a couple bras at the Ross in Emeryville, having discovered that once again, an expensive name-brand bra ejected an underwire in the laundry - and of course, the wire is gone, so I can't even attempt a repair. (The replacements are non-underwire, yay!) Somewhat amazingly, I also found a black and red color block dress in my size for about $14. It's sleeveless with a scoop neck, so I'll probably pair it with a turtleneck and wear it as a jumper. It's not a classic 60's A-line, but it's close enough, and it'll look great with the houndstooth jacket.

Speaking of echoes of Mod, get an eyeful of this
It's not a Pucci, though it sorta has that vibe.

Yes, it amuses me to find these things. I was a kid during this period, remember.
