I don't know about you, but LJ is currently showing me banner ads for Rickshaw bags. Why yes, I do think $150 for a nylon messenger bag is a bit much. Why yes, I do have a set of pannier bags in the cut-out pieces stage. (Total outlay for materials and hardware is in the neighborhood of $20-$25.) But it's awfully nice out this afternoon. Should I use the remaining daylight conditions in the garret to run them up on the machine or should I take out my bike? Maybe that should be slowly-and-carefully-assemble by machine: we're talking upholstery weight materials, nylon webbing, vinyl, etc.
EDIT: So much for that idea - the vinyl is not doing well along the stitch line. It's tearing.
Not enough of the upholstery fabric for the side panels. Must pick up some canvas tomorrow.
Pooh! I'm going to go downstairs and handsew on my kosode, I think.
