Sunday stuff
Jan. 23rd, 2011 09:19 pmMet up with James, Sylvia and Jess in Berkeley, after, of course, being hit up by no less than three panhandlers between where I parked and the BART station. We walked up to Moe's where I scored a copy of Topaz Moon, a Salman Rushdie novel I hadn't read before called Shame, and the winner of the day, a mostly Japanese art book called 1000 Years of Genji, which I found in the Fourth Floor Art and Antiquarian section for $40, right after I dragged The Bearded One in there with me and he said something to the effect of fat chance of finding something affordable in there.
We split up so he could go play some online game later in the afternoon and we ladies caught "Black Swan" at one of the downtown theaters. The moral of the story is "ballet makes you nuts." Better than I expected it to be, but that's basically what it's about. Natalie Portman looked in desperate need of a few milkshakes, not to mention some antipsychotic meds.
Took the girls to the store to pick up some grocery bits, then back to Lyman's place for a bit before coming home.
