I'm going away this weekend. Don't ask any questions while I'm gone. Don't write any stupid answers back (you know who you are but you will ignore this request anyway) in case someone forgets and asks a question. And could you five over there in the corner, for the love of all that's holy, stop sticking your answers on top of the eight previous messages when you respond to email? You're making people's eyes bleed.

Seriously, it feels like this sometimes, it really, really does.

I have been having thoughts about doing some photo tutorials on such topics as how to put on a kosode with or without false collars for awhile now. Today someone asked how to tie an obi in front.  I could do some of this with a tripod and self timer in the front hallway, but it would be a lot easier if I could find someone willing to shoot the photos, particularly for multiple step processes.....

Me, playing devil's advocate

1. Video eats bandwidth. Given the problems I've been having trying to view some video Clint shot at taiko, I think photos are easier for even the most Luddite of my visitors to deal with.
2. Getting a clean, continuous take with clean audio is difficult or there wouldn't be so many crap videos on Youtube.
3. I can just about do photos with my web skills, I'm not sure if my crappy software can handle video.
4. You and your camera are how many hours away.
5. If you think I hate being photographed, I hate being taped even more.
