1. It's been a week since they canned the pathological liar/complete incompetent who was supposed to take over the payroll function for our office. We've been documenting and cleaning up her mistakes for more than four solid months. We might actually have most of them tracked down and fixed by September 30. Kudos go to my counterpart, who has done the lion's share of this stuff. Yes, I helped too, but Nancy is a rock.

2. GWW teaching status report:

Monday afternoon, 9/22/08: "I received this: "Gentle Sir, I am not ignoring you, but am having to adjust for space (in addition to working some overtime tonight). I will try to have your info to you first thing in the am.'"

Friday evening, 9/26/08: Not yet I don't.

3. I cannot wait until the contractors are done replacing the siding on the house next door. (Wooden siding. Siding that probably was originally put on in the 1890s.) They are blitzing through the project at a good clip, they do actually tidy up after themselves before they head out at the end of the day and all that. I'm just getting really tired of having to wipe sawdust off of the washer and dryer before I use them. Even with the door closed, the stuff makes it in through cracks around the door.

purplepenguin has posted a head count request for Rising Sun so he can get us some real estate for Estrella. Is it too soon to be psyched?

4. Plan for tomorrow: sit down, finish the shibori sampler and get the thing into a dye pot and DONE. After which, I will rain curses upon the name of

allergicone for writing THIS and making my brain itch for two days: "I would personally love it if you entered the majority of the competitions at October Crown and blew people away and took the title. I know it's not something you want. I just hope we're spared any truly horrible stuff... I'm still having flash backs from the last competition I judged... "

Because today, on my morning walk - it always happens on my walk - I got an idea for a research paper topic......
