Weekend report

The part that sucked: The rain Friday night was pretty intense.
The part that didn't suck: My wedge tent performed like a champ - I had a wet spot near the front door where rain had made it under the front flap, otherwise I was snug and dry.
The part that sucked: Having to write on five signup sheets and fifteen judging sheets what I was entering.
The parts that did not suck: The stunned look on Godric's face when I told him I needed to fill out judging sheets for five entries. Dedicating my entries to the Barony of the Far West. (Because someone has to.)
The part that sucked: My "period private parts" entry did not travel particularly well. I can now reveal that it was a yamato-e style painting of Ama-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto dancing bare breasted. The painting was done on sumi-e paper that ended up with glue stains during mounting on to a fabric scroll. I am also distinctly not pleased with the bookbinding fabrics I got for the project. The brocade frayed very badly, had to be stripped off the backing and glued to the linen layer and it never quite looked right.
The part that did not suck:
vittoriosa's "period private parts" entry was a vocal performance of a love song. Sleeves were unlaced. Bosoms heaved. And all that indecent skirt hiking and leg rubbing! Oh. My. Goodness. BTW, she also had five entries and is the new kingdom's A&S champion.
The part that sucked: Performance anxiety. I got the shakes. I almost forgot the piece I composed. It was not as good as it could be, even if the Bard of the West came over during court and whispered some very kind things about it to me.
The part that did not suck: I got to see Her Majesty's new Tudor gown up close.
The part that sucked: The bottom dropped out about midway through court. Ride the adrenalin roller coaster and pay the price. I went straight to bed after court because I had to be horizontal. Had. To.
The part that sucked: I still feel like crap.
The part that did not suck: I was offsite early and home by 2 PM so I at least got a shower and a nap.
