You know, it is funny, I quite watching TV in the 1980's, when I found the SCA and discovered that I'd rather do things than sit around looking at a box watching people do things. And yet, seeing the above photo brought a huge smile to my face with memories of happily watching that show after school when I was a child.

Yeah, that recipe with your proposed alterations sounds like it would work. BTW, if you're not going to put the topping on, you don't necessarily need to bake it in a springform pan.
