Taiko went well: I was dripping wet by the time the 7:30 students showed up. Blew through several high-speed reps of "Hiryu" - I tend to screw up one line because we keep switching around who plays what on two lines of the piece and it's still not automatic. "Shinkyoku" is really sounding good and I'm pleased with how it felt. We ended with "Jishin" and I got through two solos without falling completely apart.
Unfortunately, this is the last class until January 6 - and I will miss two classes during the winter session because I'm going home in January for my cousin's wedding and a visit with the family, and then there's Estrella in February. (Mope. Mopemopemopemope - and hell yeah my practice drum is SO coming to Estrella!)
Came home to discover that the movie I fell asleep to on Sunday was just starting so I put it on. Renaissance is a noir-ish sci-fi mystery rendered in dazzlingly stark black and white animation and a good story to go with the visuals. Voices feature Daniel Craig, Catherine McCormack, Jonathan Pryce and Ian Holm.
