Woke up this morning with hints that I'm about to come down with something. When I looked at the clock mid-morning, saw it was break time and looked outside, I decided against my usual walk, even though water falleth not from the sky. As of now, my throat is definitely scratchy and I've got that all over weirdness that hasn't quite morphed into achy. Not Amused. Must stop on the way home for a Jug O'Nyquil and perhaps soup. I want to be rid of this nonsense.

Proper winter weather finally descended upon the Bay Area this weekend, after an unusually mild and dry autumn. The hail the other night was interesting. Rain I will not complain about - we certainly need it. However, they're predicting snow at higher elevations such as Mount Diablo (only about 20 miles away) and the Santa Cruz Mountains. As long as I don't have to shovel it.

Everybody's Japanese but MEEEEEEEEEE. [livejournal.com profile] gcmadtown81 , [livejournal.com profile] melaniewing  and [livejournal.com profile] danabren  all did the Japanese court dress thing at respective local events this weekend, complete with photographic evidence. (Must teach my Younger Sibling to remove his glasses before posing for formal portraits....)  I had been dithering with doing karaginu mo for Twelfth Night anyway - it's a lot of effort, but it needs to be seen again, dammit. I should also finish my hiogi. Now that I have that detail sander, I really have no excuse. But what to decorate it with? Decisions, decisions.

I have decided to err on the side of sanity. Instead of sending gifts to my family back east time for Christmas, I'll bring some small items with me when I go east in January. (I did order a gift basket with all sorts of fruit and goodies for the whole family to split on Christmas.)

EDIT: It's a good thing I picked up some cold medicine at the store. The bottle I found in the medicine cabinet when I came home is not quite a year out of date.

Looks like I may be running a slight fever too. I was downstairs watching the news, feeling quite comfortable in my sweater, then I came upstairs and realized it was a little cold. When I went downstairs to check the thermostat, it read 60 degrees.
